Advantages of Induction Heating

Why choose induction heating instead of convection, radiation, open flame, or other heating methods?

The main benefits of induction heating for manufacturing are briefly described below:

Maximize Production Efficiency

Induction heating is fast, which can greatly improve production efficiency; heat can be generated directly and quickly inside the workpiece (for example, it can reach more than 1000 ℃ in 1 second). Starts up very quickly; no warm-up or cooling is required. The induction heating process can be done at the processing site near the cold or hot rolling mill without the need to send the workpieces in batches to remote furnace areas or subcontractors.

Energy Saving

This unique energy-saving process converts 90% of the energy into effective heat; the energy efficiency of conventional furnaces is only about 45%. And because induction heating does not require preheating and cooling cycles, standby heat loss is minimized.

Control and Automate Processes

Induction heating eliminates inconsistencies and quality problems associated with open flames, flaming, and other heating methods. After the system is properly calibrated and installed, errors can be eliminated, and the heating process is accurate and consistent.

Precise temperature control can be achieved with GH power, and the power can be turned on or off instantly. Through closed-circuit temperature control, the advanced induction heating system can measure the temperature of each different workpiece. It can set special heating, constant temperature, and cooling speed, and can record the data of each running workpiece.

Product Quality

With induction heating, the workpiece to be processed does not need to be in direct contact with a flame or other heating medium, but an induced current is generated inside the workpiece through an alternating current. As a result, product thermal deformation and reject rates are minimized. In order to improve product quality, the workpiece is enclosed in a vacuum environment, in an isolated container filled with an inert gas, or a reducing gas to eliminate the effect of oxidation.

Green Energy

Induction heating systems do not consume traditional fossil fuels; induction heating is a clean and non-polluting process that benefits the environment. The induction heating system does not generate smoke, heat waves, toxic gases, and noise, which can improve the working conditions of workers. Induction heating is safe and efficient and does not create open flames that could threaten worker safety or adversely affect the process. Has no effect on non-conductive materials and can be placed near heated areas without damage.

Using GH induction heating solutions can improve the working and maintenance conditions of equipment, avoid production failures, reduce energy consumption, and improve workpiece quality control.

Induction Furnace Voltage

Induction Furnace Voltage The induced voltage of the intermediate frequency furnace often exists on the inductor coil, the furnace mouth plate, the water-cooled guide rail, and the furnace body bracket. So, what is the reason for the induction voltage of the induction furnace? Next, we will talk about the induced voltage of the intermediate frequency furnace. When the induction coil of the intermediate frequency furnace is working, when an alternating current passes through the coil, an alternating magnetic field is established in the space around the coil. An induced electromotive force is generated in the metal blank in the alternating magnetic field. We often regard the blank as a closed circuit with only one turn of the coil. When the induced electromotive force is generated, an alternating self-circulating circulating current—eddy current is generated in the circuit. Induction heating is to use the heat energy generated by this eddy current to heat the metal blank. The water-cool...

Troubleshooting of Medium Frequency Furnace

Troubleshooting of Medium Frequency Furnace This article introduces the faults and solutions of medium frequency furnace. 1. Fault phenomenon: large DC current, low DC voltage, and if the voltage, dull equipment sound, over-current protection. Analysis and treatment: the thyristor with one arm of the inverter bridge may be short-circuited or open-circuited, resulting in the operation of the three-arm inverter bridge. Use an oscilloscope to observe the voltage drop waveform of the thyristor on the four bridge arms of the inverter bridge. If the voltage drop waveform of the thyristor on one bridge arm is a line, the thyristor has been through; if it is a sine wave, the thyristor has not been through. Replace the through thyristor; find out the reason why the thyristor is not turned on. 2. Fault phenomenon: when the heavy load cold furnace is started, all electrical parameters and sounds are normal, but the power cannot be raised, and overcurrent protection. Analysis and ...
